It’s fair to say Team Liquid smashed it on Sunday. Legs may still be sore, arms may still be aching (especially mine) and some of us have sworn never to ride a bike again, but it was a sterling effort from everyone.

From the off and the not so gradual incline of the Birkenhead tunnel, it was a testing route but a combination of bananas, jelly babies and support/collective swearing got us through the 25 miles to the Chester finish line.

Total respect to everyone who cycled the full 50 miles from Liverpool to Chester and back again and a special mention for honorary Liquid member Chris Boreham who managed 50 miles wearing trainers on tiny clip-less pedals because he locked his cleats in his car.

More importantly we’ve raised over £1500 for the brilliant Alder Hey Children's Hospital who do incredible things every single day. Thanks to everyone who sponsored us - if you haven’t already done so and would like to, the page is still open at https://www.sponsorme.co.uk/stevemcgauley/liverpool-chester-liverpool-charity-bike-ride.aspx

Finally a note of caution to all readers, if anyone ever says to you ‘it’s pretty much flat all the way’ don’t believe them…
