Liquid is delighted to announce that it has begun working with Warburtons. The fifth-generation family baker from Bolton has briefed liquid to develop internal communications campaigns in support of the Warburtons Innovations Team.

Founded in a small grocery shop in Bolton by Thomas Warburton in 1876 and still run by members of the Warburtons family, it has now overtaken household names such as Nescafé, Persil, Cadbury's Dairy Milk and Walkers crisps by racking up sales of £514m last year to become the UK’s second biggest food brand.

Warburtons is the leading brand of baked goods in the UK, with a 32.9% market share of total consumer spend on wrapped bread. The Warburtons Innovations team is responsible for bringing innovative bakery concepts to market, distributed by leading retailers throughout the country.

Steve McGauley, Creative Director of liquid, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Warburtons. They’re a famous and distinguished brand with a proud tradition. The Innovations Team is a big part of Warburtons' success and we are proud to be helping to promote them.”

Darren Littler, Innovations Controller, said, “New Product Development within Warburtons has a great history but we needed to find a way to promote all the things which we’re working on. Liquid have been instrumental in creating concepts that have really helped to raise our profile throughout the company. Their designs have been striking and innovative and were just what we were looking for.”
